About Dr. Sorenson

Dr. Sorenson's journey in the medical field began at the University of Utah, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Sport Science in 2007. His thirst for knowledge and commitment to excellence led him to pursue further studies at the prestigious Case Western University, where he completed coursework in the Masters of Applied Anatomy from 2007 to 2009.

In pursuit of his dream to become a proficient podiatrist, Dr. Sorenson attended Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine, where he earned his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree in 2014. His dedication to his chosen profession was evident during his time at Kent State, where he actively participated in research initiatives, earning him recognition as a contributor to the 2011 Compendium of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery.

Career Highlights:

Since graduating, Dr. Sorenson has made significant contributions to the field of podiatry through his exceptional work as a podiatrist. He completed his Residency Training (PGY-3) at Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital from 2014 to 2017, honing his skills and expertise in podiatric medicine and surgery. During his residency, he demonstrated a deep commitment to learning and research, culminating in a research study titled "What Effect Does Release of the Deep Transverse Intermetatarsal Ligament Have on the Intermetatarsal 1-2 Angle?" This study earned him second place in the KSUCPM AFCAS 2013 Student chapter poster presentation.

Since September 2018, he has been an invaluable member of Family Foot and Ankle Specialists in Detroit, MI, where he has been serving as a dedicated podiatrist. Dr. Sorenson holds privileges at several renowned medical centers, including DMC DRH, Harper, SGH, Vibra RIM, Select Specialty SGH, Ascension Providence Southfield and Moross Beaumont Dearborn, Taylor, Trenton, and Henry Ford Wyandotte.

Before joining Family Foot and Ankle Specialists, Dr. Sorenson gained valuable experience as an Associate Podiatrist at Eugene Podiatry Associates in Eugene, OR, where he further enriched his knowledge and skills in the field.

He received Dean's List honors during his time at Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine in both 2012 and 2013.
