Cece Honculada, DPM, is an esteemed podiatrist at Foot and Ankle Specialists of The Woodlands in The Woodlands, Houston, and Huntsville, Texas.
Dr. Honculada was born and raised in Houston, Texas, and grew up with a love for sports. From an early age, she knew she wanted to pursue a career in healthcare. It was a chance encounter with a podiatrist, after badly spraining her ankle during a paintball match in college, that sparked her interest in podiatric medicine. After that, Dr. Honculada continued to familiarize herself with the profession and its many fields, including sports medicine, surgery, and diabetic care. She soon realized that she wanted to pursue a career in podiatric medicine.
Dr. Honculada attended The University of Texas at Austin, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. She eventually moved to Iowa to begin her podiatric medical education at the Des Moines University College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery. After earning her doctorate in podiatric medicine, Dr. Honculada moved to Tucson, Arizona, for a three-year residency program at Southern Arizona Veterans Affairs Health Care System. Here, she received extensive training in foot and ankle surgery and wound care. Dr. Honculada also received excellent training in foot and ankle trauma and diabetic limb salvage at local civilian facilities, such as Carondelet St. Joseph’s Hospital and Banner University Medical Center (formerly The University of Arizona Medical Center).
Dr. Honculada always knew she wanted to return to Houston after completing her podiatric education and surgical training. She is excited and grateful for the opportunity to be back in her hometown and looks forward to serving the community where she grew up. In her free time, Dr. Honculada enjoys spending time with her family and friends, fishing, playing tennis, and graphite drawing. She is an avid fan of all major Houston professional sports teams.
